According to the Estonian Education Information System, only a third of general education schools offer career counselling. Career education is part of the elective curriculum of grades 9 and 12. However, career education should start much earlier to help young adults make informed choices and pursue careers in their fields of interest.
Tagasi Kooli (Back to School) aims to help 7th- 9th graders develop awareness of themselves and their possibilities and make meaningful educational and career choices. For this purpose, 37 video lessons with self-analysis tools were created with the support of the Good Deed Education Fond. Learning tours introducing students to various organisations and the daily life of different professions can be watched on the tagasikooli.ee website.
