Every year, up to 3,000 high school students drop out or have to repeat a year. Reduced opportunities for further learning increase their socio-economic vulnerability and limit opportunities to obtain additional education.

The Good Deed Education Fund supported the Praxis Häirekell (Alarm) project, which focused on reducing the number of high school dropouts. Think tank Praxis used anonymised data from the eKooli school information system to identify dropout risk factors and provide a behavioural science-based solution to reduce dropout. The alarm clock module in eKool generated notifications for homeroom teachers, helping identify students at risk of dropping out early and intervening in time.
